What is Allah in Arabic

Allah: One True God

Who is Allah
The word "Allah" comes from the Arabic language and is the proper name for God in Islam. The word "Allah" is derived from the Arabic word "ilah," which means "god." However, "ilah" is used to refer to any deity, whereas "Allah" is used exclusively to refer to the one true God in Islam.

The word "Allah" is also related to the Aramaic and Hebrew words for God, "Alaha" and "Eloah," respectively. This reflects the shared Semitic roots of these languages.

The name "Allah" was used by the pre-Islamic Arabs to refer to a supreme deity, and it was already in use by the Arab Christians and Jews before the advent of Islam. However, in the Islamic tradition, "Allah" is understood to refer exclusively to the God of monotheistic revelation, as taught by the Prophet Muhammad.

Today, the word "Allah" is used by millions of Muslims around the world to refer to God in their prayers, religious texts, and everyday speech.

The Five Pillars of Islam
Islam is a religion of over 1. 6 billion people living all around the globe.

Islam is nothing without these five pillars. A Muslim is a true Muslim only if he/she follows these five pillars.

These five pillars are the base of Islam, the basic rules a true follower must follow. People may have a Muslim name, but if he/she doesn't know or follow these five pillars; the fragrance of peace, love, and affection can't be smelt of him/her.

2. The Daily Prayers - Praying 5 times a day is compulsory for every individual.

3. Zakat (Charity) - Every wealthy or capable Muslim must give 2.5% (usually) of their annual savings to the needy people.

4. Fasting - Ramadhan, the holy month when Muslims must fast to purify one-selves.

5. Hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca - Muslims who can afford physically or by wealth should go to Mecca once in their lifetime.
