Importance of Al-Aqsa Mosque to Muslims
For Muslims every mosque is important, but Al-Aqsa is one of the three mosques that has been given higher places in the hearts of Muslims.
Al-Aqsa mosque is basically an area which consists of several buildings, many minarets at the perimeter, and prayer areas that also includes the the Dome of the Rock and the Qibli Mosque, Masjid Al Buraq.
One of the top reasons for the importance is that it is the only mosques after the Kaabah mentioned in the the holy book, the Al-Qur’an.

Lets talk about the importance of one of these mosques, the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Here are few points mentioned below that tells the importance of Al-Aqsa mosque to the Muslims.
1. Al-Aqsa mosque was the first Qiblah of the Muslims.
2. It is the second house of the Almighty Allah built on the earth.
3. This is the land from which the messenger Muhammad (PBUH) was taken up to the heavens to meet the Almighty Allah.
4. This is the land on which Prophet Jesus (PBUH) will kill the biggest Fitnah on the earth, Dajjal (Anti-Christ). (Muslim. 2937).
5. According to a Hadiths, This is the land on which the angels of the Almighty Allah are spreading their wings over. (Trimidhi 3954).
6. It is the third holiest site after that two holy mosques is in Mecca and Medina.
7. The mosque is mentioned by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He advised Muslims to visit this mosque and offer prayers. He said, “Set out deliberately on a journey only to three Mosques- this mosque of mine (in Medina), the sacred Mosque (in Mecca) and the Masjid Al Aqsa”. (Bukhari & Muslim)
8. According to Muslims this is the place where hundreds of messengers of Allah and many companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)are buried.
9. This is the place where Allah himself calls it a blessed place and this places is also mentioned directly or indirectly 70 times in the Quran.
These are the a few reasons for the importance of the Al-Aqsa Mosque to the Muslims.
So, When the Palestinians or the Muslims around the world, say about dying for this land and do anything to protect this land, they actually are not only protecting their own land but the actual reason is that they seek closeness to Allah by loving this land.
