The Five Pillars of Islam
Islam is a religion of over 1. 6 billion people living all around the globe.

Islam is nothing without these five pillars. A Muslim is a true Muslim only if he/she follows these five pillars.

These five pillars are the base of Islam, the basic rules a true follower must follow. People may have a Muslim name, but if he/she doesn't know or follow these five pillars; the fragrance of peace, love, and affection can't be smelt of him/her.

The Five Pillars of Islam are-

1. Declaration of Faith -  Understanding with the full faith and no doubt the first Kalimah, i.e., "There is no god but God (One Supreme power with no associates or partners) and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is his messenger (last) and servant".

2. The Daily Prayers - Praying 5 times a day is compulsory for every individual.

3. Zakat (Charity) - Every wealthy or capable Muslim must give 2.5% (usually) of their annual savings to the needy people.

4. Fasting - Ramadhan, the holy month when Muslims must fast to purify one-selves.

5. Hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca - Muslims who can afford physically or by wealth should go to Mecca once in their lifetime.
